Goldie's Takes: Week 14

(Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)

Goldie’s All Time Record: 72-35 Vs. Spread: 51-56

Goldie’s Week 13 Record : 12-3 Vs. Spread: 9-6

Goldie’s Guarantee: 7-1

Goldie’s Upset: 5-3

Crazy Uncle Jeff: 6-0

Goldie’s Guarantee: GB-7.5

Green Bay Packers (9-3) @ Detroit Lions (5-7)

Vegas Picks: GB -7.5

Goldie’s Take: Packers Win 35-23

The Lions did get a nice comeback win last week against Chicago, but I’d attribute that more to the weakness of the Bears rather than the strength of the Lions. Aaron Rodgers is right in the thick of the MVP race, as he’s been BALLIN this year. Green Bay has won four out of their last five and have been playing elite level football all season. The Packers get their annual win in Detroit this Sunday, I GUARANTEE IT!

Goldie’s Upset of the Week

Washington Football Team (5-7) @ San Francisco 49ers (5-7)

Vegas Picks: SF -3

Goldie’s Take: Washington Wins 24-22

Ron Rivera has this “Football Team” playing excellent in the past three weeks. Three straight wins for Washington has this team feeling themselves. One of those three wins spoiled the Steelers bid for a perfect season. Nobody saw that coming (except me). Alex Smith going up against his former team this weekend, makes for another opportunity for his “Comeback Player of the Year” season to get even sweeter. The Niners are beat up with no Kittle or Garoppolo and this season seems to be a lost cause for them. WASHINGTON UPSET PART 2

Crazy Uncle Jeff’s Lock of the Week: TB -6.5

Minnesota Vikings (6-6) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)

Vegas Picks: TB -6.5

Goldie’s Take: Bucs Win 28-23

Uncle Jeffy looks to remain perfect as Brady and the Bucs look for a big win to keep them where they want to be in the playoff push. On the other hand, the Vikings have creeped their way back into the playoff race after their 1-5 start to the season. Although I do think the Bucs end up with the win, I anticipate a much closer game than Uncle Jeff is expecting.

Tennessee Titans (8-4) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1-11)

Vegas Picks: TEN -7.5

Goldie’s Take: Titans Win 27-17

Titans late comeback effort wasn’t enough last week after getting dominated in the first half by the Browns. Jags haven’t held a team under 24 points since week one. Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill will feast on the Jacksonville D.Tennessee will go in and take care of business against a rebuilding Jacksonville team. Gritty young Jags did take Minnesota to distance last week, but it wasn’t enough to stop the losing streak, same fortune ensuing this weekend. Titans get a W in Duval.

Kansas City Chiefs (11-1) @ Miami Dolphins (8-4)

Vegas Picks: KC -7

Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 28-24

I love the way the Dolphins defense has been playing this season, however, I don’t trust them to shut down Patty Mahomes for a full game. The fins have been beating up on bad teams the past few weeks, so it’ll be interesting to see how they fare against one of the league's heavyweights. I think the Fins keep it close until the end, but the Chiefs escape Miami with a narrow victory.

Denver Broncos (4-8) @ Carolina Panthers (4-8)

Vegas Picks: CAR -3

Goldie’s Take: Broncos Win 32-28

Both of these teams have been wildly inconsistent this season. Panthers will most likely be missing star running back Christian McCaffrey this weekend, as it appears he won’t be ready as soon as they hoped. The Broncos are coming off a tough loss on Sunday Night Football, in a game where they gave the best team in the league a real fight. I just see more grit in Drew Lock and this Broncos team. If you take out the game where they had no QB, Denver’s defense has looked solid of late. They will go into Carolina and leave with a well earned victory.

Houston Texans (4-8) @ Chicago Bears (5-7)

Vegas Picks: HOU -1.5

Goldie’s Take: Texans Win 34-23

This is one of those games where the team's record doesn't properly represent the state of the team. Although Chicago has the better overall Win/Loss ratio, they’re clearly the inferior team as they come into this one losers of six in a row. The Texans, on the other hand, have a very opposite story. After their horrendous start, they fired their coach and have looked like a much better football team. Deshaun Watson has been playing fantastic over the past few weeks, he keeps it rolling with a road win this Sunday in The Chi.

Arizona Cardinals (6-6) @ New York Giants (5-7)

Vegas Picks: ARI -3

Goldie’s Take: Cardinals Win 24-19

Two streaks are coming to an end this Sunday in the meadowlands. The Cardinals enter this one on a three game losing skid. The Giants enter as winners of four in a row, including an impressive win over the Seahawks last week. Although I think the Giants are much better than people give them credit, I don’t think they win this week. Cardinals over Giants as Murray to Hopkins is a frequent winning connection.

Dallas Cowboys (3-9) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-9-1)

Vegas Picks: DAL -3.5

Goldie’s Take: Cowboys Win 21-16

Two nine loss teams face off in the toilet bowl this Sunday. The Bengals offense has looked helpless without rookie sensation Joe Burrow. The Cowboys have continued to struggle the past few weeks as well. This will be an ugly game but I’m taking Dallas as I view them as the lesser of the two stinkers in this Sunday’s matchup.

Indianapolis Colts (8-4) @ Las Vegas Raiders (7-5)

Vegas Picks: IND -3

Goldie’s Take: Raiders Win 31-25

This Sunday I continue to ponder the question I’ve been trying to answer all season... Are the Colts good? As a matter of fact, you can ask the same question about the Raiders. I believe the Raiders season was revived by a sudden shock of life in the final five seconds of last week's game against the Jets. It appeared as if their season was over, as they were just seconds away from losing to the only winless team in football, but miraculously they survived. The Raiders should be thanking their lucky stars that they’re 7-5 right now, and they know they can’t put themselves in a position like that again. Jon Gruden and the Raiders come out swinging and get a monumental win in Vegas.

New York Jets (0-12) @ Seattle Seahawks (8-4)

Vegas Picks: SEA -13.5

Goldie’s Take: Seahawks Win 27-7

The Jets had their shot last week, but of course Jets gonna Jet. That was it. That was the best shot they’re going to get at a win this year. No way Russel Wilson is losing to two sub .500 New York teams in back to back weeks. This game should be a slaughterfest as the Seahawks stomp the Jets at home.

Atlanta Falcons (4-8) @ Los Angeles Chargers (3-9)

Vegas Picks: ATL -1.5

Goldie’s Take: Chargers Win 30-27

Both of these teams have a lot of talent, but haven’t been able to put it together this season. The Chargers looked horrible in their 45-0 loss to New England last week, however that was one that just got out of hand quickly. The Chargers aren’t actually that bad. Meanwhile, the Falcons will be without star wide receiver Julio Jones this Sunday. I don’t feel as if I can trust either one of these squads, so I’m taking the Chargers to get a win at home to stop their losing skid. Venue Call.

New Orleans Saints (10-2) @ Philadelphia Eagles (3-8-1)

Vegas Picks: NO -7

Goldie’s Take: Saints Win 28-20

Jalen Hurts time for the Eagles as Philly fans finally get their wish with Carson Wentz benched this week. Do I think Jalen Hurts will provide a much needed spark to this Eagles offense? Yes. Do I think that spark is going to be enough to beat the Saints? Absolutely not! N’awlins enters this one as the hottest team in the NFL with a nine game winning streak. They will leave Philly with a ten game winning streak, and Doug Pederson’s hot seat gets a little bit hotter.

Pittsburgh Steelers (11-1) @ Buffalo Bills (9-3)

Vegas Picks: BUF -2

Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 26-23

The Steelers reign over the NFL this season is over. I never truly thought it even began. Pittsburgh has been overrated all season. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still a good football team, but that 11-0 record was a fluke. They proved that last week, falling to a team with a losing record. Steelers really come back down to Earth with another loss this Sunday Night in Buffalo. Josh Allen has a big day as the Buffalo Bills circle the wagons once again

Baltimore Ravens (7-5) @ Cleveland Browns (9-3)

Vegas Picks: BAL -2.5

Goldie’s Take: Browns Win 27-23

Since week 7, the Browns are across the board a better football team than the Ravens culminating in Cleveland at 5-1, while Baltimore is 2-4. The Ravens have had constant chaos surrounding their organization since Thanksgiving. During this time, the Browns have found their identity. They have the best offensive line in the NFL, they have the best running back tandem in the NFL, and they have a solid defense. I love the Browns +2.5 at home this Monday Night.
