Goldie's Takes: NFL Week 7

Goldie is back for another edition of "Goldie's Takes". After going 9-5 in Week 6, let's see how Goldie does this week.

(ChargersWire/USAToday)

Goldie’s Week 6 record: 9-5

Goldie’s Guarantee: 1-0

Goldie’s Upset: 1-0

Goldie’s Guarantee

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) @ LA Chargers (1-4)

Vegas Picks: LAC -7.5

Goldie’s Take: Chargers Win 27-10

All of the Chargers losses this season have been by one score. Their 1-4 record does not reflect their record, and the Jags are clearly in rebuild mode. This is the week the Chargers turn it around. Rookie sensation Justin Herbert is the real deal and the Chargers come out and have a statement win at home this Sunday.

Goldie’s Upset of the Week

Seattle Seahawks (5-0) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-2)

Vegas Picks: SEA -3

Goldie’s Take: Cardinals Win 27-23

In a big time NFC West showdown Russell Wilson and the Seahawks travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals. The Cardinals looked phenomenal on Monday Night Football in Dallas. I think Kyler Murray and the Cardinals keep the momentum going and come out firing this Sunday and get a huge upset win over the Seahawks. Sunday night at home, the Cards stay hot and hand Seattle their first loss.

Panthers (3-3) @ Saints (3-2)

Vegas Picks: NO -7.5

Goldie’s Take: Saints Win 24-16

Teddy Bridgewater’s return to New Orleans should be an interesting storyline, especially after he went 5-0 in Brees’ relief while he was hurt last season. I think the Panthers make it a close game but Brees and the Saints pull away in the 4th.

Browns (4-2) @ Bengals (1-4-1)

Vegas Picks: CLE -3

Goldie’s Take: Browns Win 31-17

After getting mucked by the Steelers last week Baker Mayfield and the Browns look to have a bounce back performance on the road against rookie QB Joe Burrow. I think Miles Garrett and the Browns pass rush give the Bengals O line fits and make it a difficult day for Burrow. Browns win this one by a few scores.

Dallas Cowboys (2-4) @ Washington Football Team (1-5)

Vegas Picks: NO SPREAD

Goldie’s Take: Cowboys Win 23- 13

The Cowboys got SMACKED last week on Monday Night Football. Zeke had fumbling troubles and the Cowboys looked completely dysfunctional. On the other hand, Ron Rivera and Washington have been irrelevant since their week one win against Philly. This will be an ugly game with lots of field goals. The battle for the NFC LEast heats up as the Cowboys bounce back and take this one.

Detroit Lions (2-3) @ Atlanta Falcons (1-5)

Vegas Pick: ATL -2.5

Goldie’s Take: Lions Win 33-28

Both these bottom feeders are somehow coming off wins last week. Both these teams are terrible defensively. This should be a shootout and actually a pretty close offensive game. I think Atlanta is in rebuild mode and the Lions get back to .500 this weekend, Lions win in a high scoring shootout.

Buffalo Bills (4-2) @ New York Jets (0-6)

Vegas Picks: BUF -12.5

Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 31-6

Usually I say that it’s a divisional game and it’ll be a close one, but then I realized it’s the New York Jets. The Jets are an absolute dumpster fire right now, and it doesn’t look like it’s getting any better. I’m shocked that Adam Gase still has a job after getting shut out by the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. Not much to think about in this one, Josh Allen and the Bills by a million

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-0) @ Tennessee Titans (5-0)

Vegas Picks: Ten -1

Goldie’s Take: Steelers Win 24-20

Both of these teams have started the season red hot. The Steelers defensive unit has been the best in the NFL this season, and that is what I think powers the Steelers to a W this week. Although I do think Derrick Henry has another good day, Big Ben and the Steelers win this game in a close one.

Green Bay Packers (4-1) @ Houston Texans (1-5)

Vegas Picks: GB -3.5

Goldie’s Take: Packers win 30-23

Deshaun Watson and the Texans have had a rough start to the season to say the least. In their defense, they have had one of the tougher schedules in the league this season. After firing their coach earlier in the year, this season has gone from bad to worse for Houston. Last week’s loss to Tennessee was devastating for the Texans, and it doesn’t get any easier for them as they play a very strong Packers team this week. I think the Packers bounce back this week after getting obliterated by Tom Brady and the Bucs. Rodgers and the Packers go into Houston and get back on track this Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) @ Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)

Vegas Picks: LV -4

Goldie’s Take: Raiders Win 28-23

Both these teams are coming off of big time wins in their last game. The Bucs smacking Green Bay last week, and the Raiders beating the Chiefs in their last game before their bye. I think Brady and the Bucs come back down to earth this week and lose on the road in Vegas. The Raiders have had two weeks to prepare for this one, and Jon Gruden looks to prove to the world that the Raiders are legit. The Raiders take this one as Josh Jacobs is the X factor and has a big day.

Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) @ Denver Broncos (2-3)

Vegas Picks: KC -9.5

Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 28- 20

After upsetting the Patriots last weekend the Broncos look to keep that train rolling this week as the Chiefs also are coming off a win against Buffalo on Monday night. It’s clear the Broncos are a way better team with Drew Lock at the quarterback position. I do think the Broncos keep this one close but at the end of the day I can’t bet against Mahomes and Kansas City. Chiefs win this divisional matchup and improve to 6-1.

San Francisco 49ers (3-3) @ New England Patriots (2-3)

Vegas Picks: NE -2

Goldie’s Take: 49ers Win 20-17

This should be a good game as Jimmy Garoppolo makes his return to New England. This one was a contender for Upset of the week. I think the Niners have the momentum coming into this one after the Monday Night win against the Rams and they look to build on it. Jimmy G comes out with a vengeance and beats his former team in their barn.

Chicago Bears (5-1) @ LA Rams (4-2)

Vegas Picks: LAR -6

Goldie’s Take: Rams Win 27-21

The Rams play their second primetime game in a row, and I believe they bounce back at home. The Bears have started the season red hot, but they are due for a loss this week. I think the Bears keep it close, but I’m making it a venue call and I’m taking the Rams at home.
