Goldie's Takes: NFL Week 16

(Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Goldie’s All Time Record: 96-42 Vs. Spread: 71-65

Goldie’s Week 14 Record : 12-3 Vs. Spread: 10-3

Goldie’s Guarantee: 8-2

Goldie’s Upset: 7-3

Crazy Uncle Jeff: 9-0

Goldie’s Guarantee: WSH -1

Carolina Panthers (4-10) @ Washington Football Team (6-8)

Vegas Picks: WSH -1

Goldie’s Take: Washington Wins 24-19

Although Alex Smith is questionable, I still like Washington a lot in this one. The Panthers have struggled on both sides of the ball all season and without Christian McCaffrey again this week, they should have trouble moving the ball. Especially against Washington’s rugged defense. Washington’s defensive unit ranks in the top-five in the NFL in yards allowed per game and points allowed per game. It doesn’t matter who’s at quarterback, Ron Rivera gets a W against his old team as the "No Names" keep grasp of first place in the NFC East.

Goldie’s Upset of the Week:

Philadelphia Eagles (4-9-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (5-9)

Vegas Picks: PHI -2.5

Goldie’s Take: Cowboys Win 24-21

The last time these two squared off, it was Carson Wentz against Ben Dinucci. This week it will be Jalen Hurts versus Andy Dalton. This game is honestly a toss up as we have no idea what to expect. Both teams have kind of come alive in recent weeks to keep them each holding on by a thread in the divisional battle. I’m taking the veteran experience of Andy Dalton and a bit of a venue call taking the boys at home. 'How Bout Dem Cowboys!'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-5) @ Detroit Lions (5-9)

Vegas Picks: TB -9.5

Goldie’s Take: Buccaneers Win 27-16

This is sort of a dud of a game. The Bucs pretty much have a playoff spot locked up, while the Lions are looking ahead towards the draft. The better football team is going to come out and assert themselves early. Brady and the Bucs get a win in Michigan.

San Francisco 49ers (5-9) @ Arizona Cardinals (8-6)

Vegas Picks: ARI -5

Goldie’s Take: Cardinals Win 29-20

The Niners simply don’t have it this season. They’ve been injury riddled all season. They come into this one losers of six of their last seven. The Niners aren’t going to be able to keep pace with that high flying offense of Arizona. Cards get a big time win to keep hold of that final NFC wild card spot

Miami Dolphins (9-5) @ Las Vegas Raiders (7-7)

Vegas Picks: MIA -3

Goldie’s Take: Dolphins Win 23-17

The Raiders have been up and down all season. They’ve shown signs of greatness this season, but can’t seem to put it all together. The Dolphins on the other hand, have been firing on all cylinders this season. Brian Flores has this defense rocking and the Fins look like a well oiled machine. The Dolphins win ugly. That’s what they do. I fully expect a low scoring defensive Miami Dolphins win on Saturday night.

New York Giants (5-9) @ Baltimore Ravens (9-5)

Vegas Picks: BAL -10.5

Goldie’s Take: Ravens Win 26-21

Both of these teams are right in the thick of their own respective playoff pushes, and both teams desperately need this win. I think Baltimore gets the win because they are the more complete football team. However, the Giants are not the type of team to just lay down. I expect the G Men to put up a good fight, but Baltimore to escape with the win. Bet on the Ravens with caution.

Cleveland Browns (10-4) @ New York Jets (1-13)

Vegas Picks: CLE -10

Goldie’s Take: Browns Win 27-13

JETS GONNA JET. This organization can’t even tank correctly. They blew their shot at getting the golden boy Trevor Lawrence by winning last week. I still have no faith in this group. I view last week mostly as a fluke. The Browns are a legitimate football team this season and I fully expect the Browns to go in and wax the Jets on Sunday.

Chicago Bears (7-7) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1-13)

Vegas Picks: CHI -7.5

Goldie’s Take: Bears Win 31-14

DAAAA BEARS. Holding on for dear life in that NFC playoff push. This is a must win if they even want a shot at making the playoffs. Their offense is finally clicking and Mitch Trubisky is trying to save his job. The Jags on the other hand, are in complete tank mode and are licking their chops now that they are in line to get the number one pick in the draft. I got DA BEARS in this one by a landslide.

Atlanta Falcons (4-10) @ Kansas City Chiefs (13-1)

Vegas Picks: KC -10.5

Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 32-20

Chiefs are just too good. Even in a sloppy game last week, they were still able to put away one of the league's top teams last week with little to no trouble. Mahomes continues to put up MVP numbers and the Chiefs train just keeps rolling. No Julio Jones for the Falcons this week. Chiefs take this one at home

Cincinnati Bengals (3-10-1) @ Houston Texans (4-10)

Vegas Picks: HOU -7

Goldie’s Take: Texans Win 21-13

Yes, the Bengals looked good last Monday night against the Steelers, but you can’t honestly expect them to do it again. This is Deshaun Watson we’re talking about. He should have a field day against that depleted Bengals defense. Texans win this one at home.

Indianapolis Colts (10-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (11-3)

Vegas Picks: IND -1.5

Goldie’s Take: Colts Win 21-19

People are finally starting to realize the Steelers were never that good. They have a strong defense that keeps them in many football games. Other than that, their team has many holes. Big Ben is aging and can’t do it like he used to. Their receivers can’t catch. Their running backs aren’t healthy, and aren’t even that good when healthy. The Colts offensive line is top three in the NFL and will slow down that Steelers pass rush. Philip Rivers gets the win in the battle of the two old time quarterbacks.

Denver Broncos (5-9) @ Los Angeles Chargers (5-9)

Vegas Picks: LAC -3

Goldie’s Take: Chargers Win 31-27

The Chargers should come into this game with a bit of a chip on their shoulder from the last time they played the Broncos. In their last matchup, LA blew a big lead to Denver in the fourth quarter. Classic Chargers. However, I think Herbert comes and plays with confidence and swagger as the Chargers get a win against a division rival at home.

Los Angeles Rams (9-5) @ Seattle Seahawks (10-4)

Vegas Picks: SEA -1

Goldie’s Take: Seahawks Win 30-24

The Rams lost to the Jets last week. Their confidence is shaken. They’re not mentally prepared to face Russell Wilson in Seattle yet. The Seahawks have been one of the best teams in football this season, and they’re getting healthier. I can’t trust the rams after what I saw from them last week, and I love the ‘Hawks at home. This one was a no brainer for me.

Tennessee Titans (10-4) @ Green Bay Packers (11-3)

Vegas Picks: GB -3

Goldie’s Take: Packers Win 30-28

This is going to be a great football game. Two great teams duking it out on Sunday Night Football. While I think the balanced attack of the Titans will keep this game interesting, I can’t trust their pass rush to put enough pressure on Aaron Rodgers. He’s a baaaad man with time to throw back there. Give me the Pack at lambeau

Buffalo Bills (11-3) @ New England Patriots (6-8)

Vegas Picks: BUF -7

Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 24-16

The Bills have been the hottest team in football of late, and show no signs of slowing down. Josh Allen is having the best year of his career, and it looks it he’s starting to make that jump. Meanwhile, the Pats can’t score, and they definitely can’t throw the ball. Bills defense has been balling too. They’ve got all the momentum in the world. I don’t even think Bill Belichick can slow them down.
