Diffusing Dynamite Oct. 23

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was live on Saturday night for a special edition of Dynamite and it was a fantastic show. This show would feature the start of the Women’s TBS Championship Tournament and the continued AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

For the AEW title tournament, Bryan Danielson would defeat Dustin Rhodes and Eddie Kingston defeated Lance Archer in first-round matches. In the first match of the TBS tournament, Ruby Soho defeated Penelope Ford.

This show would also feature the much anticipated third match between Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black in the main event.

As always the Diffusing Dynamite team of Joseph Casciaro and Gavin Axelrod have you covered for all things AEW!

MJF sends another message to Darby

Sting was given time on Dynamite to provide an update on his friend, Darby Allin after he was attacked by The Pinnacle a few weeks ago. However, Sting could not say anything before being rudely interrupted by MJF.

MJF was blaming Sting for Allin being injured and he said he is never there to back up friends. He said as long as Sting is Allin’s friend, Allin will end up like his old friend Lex Luger in a wheelchair.

Sting then heard enough and hit MJF with a clean right, but out came Shawn Spears and Wardlow of The Pinnacle. They then beat Sting down three on one with a steel chair and then MJF picked up the microphone again.

He said Darby Allin I know you’re watching and asked if he has finally broken him mentally because look at his friend Sting. He then screamed saying Darby if you ever come back this will be your future out on the floor just like Sting, and he said he will always be second to him. MJF finished it off by punching Sting right in the face with his Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Issues in The Pinnacle

Following the MJF segment, we got a background segment with MJF, Wardlow and Shawn Spears. Wardlow was slightly upset with MJF over being pushed in front of Sting, but MJF covered that up so quickly.

MJF then turned everything around on Wardlow saying maybe there has been too much pressure on him. So, from now on MJF has appointed Shawn Spears as Wardlow’s ‘accountabili-buddy,’ something Wardlow did not like to hear. It looks like some issues are brewing between MJF and Wardlow.

CM Punk chooses his next opponent

On Dynamite, Bobby Fish defeated Andy Greene in a very quick fashion and then continued the beat down after the match ended. As Fish was landing forearms, running out for the save came CM Punk! CM Punk stared down Fish as he retreated and I expect we get a match between the two in the near future.

Lambert’s stipulation

(Twitter via @AEW)

Dan Lambert was on Dynamite to talk about the special stipulation he wants before agreeing to the Full Gear tag team match. Lambert said that at Full Gear it will only be Inner Circle against American Top Team and The Men of the Year if Sammy Guevara does what he says.

He said Guevara must defend the TNT Championship against Ethan Page on Dynamite next week and if he loses he must also leave Inner Circle forever. Guevara said he will accept the match, but he says if he wins the match he gets to choose the three members of the American Top Team for the match at Full Gear.

The Men of the Hour then attempted to attack Guevara, but the rest of Inner Circle came out for the save. Lambert and Men of the Hour then retreated through the crowd with no response!

Superkliq and Jungle Boy continue their rivalry

Jungle Boy defeated Brandon Cutler in under five minutes on Dynamite and that said it was a good warm-up, but now he wants another Elite member! Jungle Boy then continued to hold Cutler in the snare trap until he got an Elite member.

Adam Cole then came down the ramp distracting Jungle Boy allowing The Young Bucks to superkick him from behind. The Superkliq then laid out Jungle Boy on the ramp, first The Bucks hit a BTE Trigger and then Cole hit the Last Shot. The Bucks then humiliated him giving him a kiss on each cheek and then throwing him off the stage through a set of tables! The war between Cole and Jungle Boy is far from over!

Cody gets his revenge

(Twitter via @AEW)

The main event of Dynamite was Cody Rhodes vs Malakai Black 3, and it was one of the most hectic main events in some time. This match had everything from blood, tables and interference.

Rhodes hit Black with a Cross Rhodes through a table, Andrade and Pac got involved and Black sprayed Arn Anderson with the black mist. Cody then kicked it into high gear, he hit Black with a Cody Cutter, a Cross Rhodes and then finally a Tiger Driver 98 to score the win over Black. It took three hard-fought attempts, but Cody has finally defeated Black.
