War of words on the microphone steals the show

By Gavin Axelrod

All Elite Wrestling rolled into Chicago Wednesday night for another great edition of Dynamite.

The show saw Colt Cabana face Bryan Danielson, CM Punk take on QT Marshall and an epic eight-man tag team main event.

Elsewhere on the show, Dante Martin made the surprise move to join Team Taz, the TBS Title tournament rolled on and much more. As always, Gavin Axelrod and Joseph Casicaro have you covered on all things Dynamite!

CM Punk and MJF steal the show

The promo war between MJF and CM Punk on Wednesday night was probably the best segment in AEW’s history.

These two men lit each other up on the microphone. MJF called out CM Punk for being too much of a kiss up and mocking his UFC career. He also told Punk that ever since he came back to wrestling, he sounded just like the man who uses the words hustle, loyalty and respect.

Punk had a great rebuttal too though. He admitted MJF did have some truth to his promo, but that he would make him pay for his words. If you didn’t catch this segment, it’s actually up for FREE on AEW’s YouTube channel.

TBS Title Tournament nears its end

(AEW)

Jamie Hayter and Thunder Rosa had a great contest Wednesday night. In fact, it was one of the better matches of the tournament.

Hayter’s in-ring style is very stiff and she makes her opponents look great with her selling. Rosa also should be a favourite in this tournament but could fit better in the AEW Women’s Championship picture.

At one point in the match, it looked like Britt Baker was going to help Hayter secure the victory. However, she accidentally superkicked her stablemate, leading to Rosa winning the match.

Up next, Thunder Rosa will take on Jade Cargill in the next round of the tournament.

Main event madness

(AEW)

The main event of Wednesday’s show was an absolute car crash between the team of Death Triangle and Cody Rhods versus FTR, Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black.

While the match was fine, it’ll be nice to see these two sides hopefully get away from each other for a while. Black could use a fresh feud and same with Rhodes.

The outcome of Wednesday’s match saw El Idolo pin PAC after Black sprayed him with the mysterious mist.
