Diffusing Dynamite Blood & Guts

The May 5 edition of AEW Dynamited was highlighted by the Blood & Guts main event

On May 5, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Blood & Guts was finally here, a show that has been months in the making. The main event would see the Blood & Guts match between The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle to close out their feud.

However, AEW didn’t stop there and they announced much more like Cody Rhodes vs QT Marshall, Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston and also Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. would be in action.

We would also see a four-way tag team match to name the number one contenders for the AEW Tag Team Championships between SCU, Jurassic Express, The Varsity Blondes and The Acclaimed.

The crowd would also be addressed by Miro and then Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page, but perhaps the most interesting announcement was that there would be information provided about Kenny Omega’s challenger for his AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing.

As always, the Diffusing Dynamite team of Joseph Casciaro and Gavin Axelrod have you covered on all things AEW!

The Elite make a statement

The opening bout on Dynamite saw Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston defeat Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa. They got the pin on Nakazawa while Omega ran to the back with Don Callis.

Post-match The Young Bucks came out on the stage getting Mox and Kingston’s attention, this allowed The Good Brothers to attack from behind. The two teams then beat the hell out of Mox and Kingston, until Omega eventually rejoined them in the ring.

Omega then decided to hit a One-Winged Angel on Eddie Kingston and Matt Jackson counted the ‘pinfall’ for the World Champion. Gavin and I are predicting Mox and Kingston vs The Bucks for the Tag Titles at Double or Nothing!

Britt Baker to the moon

It was announced on Dynamite that on May 30 at Double or Nothing AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will be defending her championship against number one contender Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Give Britt the gold she deserves!

Ogogo defends his factory

Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall put on a surprisingly great match on Dynamite that saw Cody come out on top after a crossroads. Following the match, Cody did not get much time to celebrate as The Factory’s Anthony Ogogo jumped in the ring and hit Cody with a strong right fist to the abdomen.

That one punch was enough to lay Cody out and then Ogogo laid the flag of The United Kingdom over him and he stood tall. Seems like we are possibly headed towards Cody vs Ogogo at Double or Nothing!

Darby can only take so much

On Wednesday, we got to hear from Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page after their attacks on Sting and Darby Allin last week. Sky was tired of Sting and said he overstayed his welcome in AEW. Sky also said Sting had his time, but now he is the franchise!

Page talked about Allin and their rich history with one another, he took credit for the dent in Darby’s forehead and the metal in his elbow. However, he could not say anything more because Darby was there to attack.

Allin was able to hold his own against the two men, but eventually, the numbers game caught up to him. Page then pushed Allin’s face into the spikes on Sky’s shoe and both men then teamed up to throw Allin down the concrete stairs to take him out.

SCU getting one last dance

In the four-way number one contenders match for the AEW Tag Team Championships it was SCU coming out on top after connecting on a picture perfect BME. This sets the match for next week, it will be The Young Bucks defending the AEW Tag Team Titles against SCU and of course if SCU loses they must disband as a team forever.

AEW World Championship scene

We were promised a massive announcement about the AEW World Championship picture tonight and Tony Schiavone did just that. Next week, it will be the top two contenders in AEW, PAC and Orange Cassidy, going one on one with the winner facing Omega for the gold at Double or Nothing!

Miro wants to be the face of TNT

Miro was interviewed by Tony Schiavone and he had a big announcement for everyone regarding his earlier statement of putting anyone that holds a title on notice. He had a signed contract stating that next week it will be Miro vs Darby Allin for the TNT Championship! Darby is also not allowed to forfeit after the beatdown he received earlier on the show.

BLOOD & GUTS

There are three simple words to describe the Blood & Guts main event between The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle, those words are “oh my god!” This match delivered perfectly and had all the blood and guts you could imagine.

I am telling you if you did not watch this match live, you definitely should go watch it. You will get the high spots, the brutal beat downs and some very entertaining high flying.

The close to the match came down to MJF and Chris Jericho on top of the cage, and MJF was threatening to throw Jericho off the cage onto the stage. In an attempt to save his leader, Sammy Guevara surrendered on behalf of his team and gave The Pinnacle the win.

The win, however, was not enough for MJF and he then still launched Jericho off the cage and through the stage. Dynamite then went off the air with MJF standing tall on the cage and The Inner Circle attending to the bloody out cold Jericho. MJF finally did what he promised last week and looked down at Jericho and said to him, thank you!

Next Week: TNT Champion Darby Allin defends against Miro, IWGP U.S. Champion Jon Moxley defends against Yuji Nagata, AEW World Championship Eliminators Match PAC vs Orange Cassidy, AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks defend against SCU and much more!
