A week after more than one million viewers watched its weekly show, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) put on another amazing show.

Hikaru Shida defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Tay Conti in a thrilling match. Darby Allin also defended the TNT Championship against Jungle boy.

The show also saw Penta El Zero M defeat Trent and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page beat Ricky Starks in two great matches. QT Marshall also earned a cheap victory over Billy Gunn with help from The Factory

As always Gavin Axelrod and Joseph Casciaro have you covered for all things Dynamite. Keep reading to find out what happened on Wednesday’s show!

A point for Pinnacle

(@AEW via Twitter)

The Pinnacle took home the win in the promo battle Wednesday night ahead of Blood and Guts May 5.

It was a rare off-night for Chris Jericho, who couldn’t quite find his lines. What was supposed to be a serious promo fell flat in delivery.

On the other side of the coin, MJF and his faction were in peak form Wednesday. Even Wardlow got to shine as he cut a promo on Jericho.

Next week the two factions will be face to face in a parlay.

Women’s Championship match delivered

(AEW)

Tay Conti and Hikaru Shida had a tremendous battle for the AEW Women’s World Championship based on mutual respect.

The match was well-paced and had even better spots. Conti took to the top rope for the first time ever and hit a senton on a perched Shida.

AEW’s Women’s World Champion followed that up later in the match by picking her opponent up on the top rope and dropping her straight down.

In recent months AEW’s women’s division has been on the rise and Wednesday’s contest marked the end of a great feud. Conti’s rise through the women’s division was booked excellently and looked strong even in defeat.

Shida is the top dog in the division for now, but Conti is a likeable underdog that could prove to be one of the best sleeper signings in AEW’s history.

After the match, Shida had little time to celebrate her victory. Britt Baker made her way to the ringside area where she was officially dubbed the number one contender for the championship.

All roads seem to be leading to Hikaru Shida vs Britt Baker, May 30 at the Double Or Nothin pay-per-view.

“Bitch AF”

(AEW)

During the show, The Elite was set to cut a promo from their personal trailer. Matt Jackson exclaimed that without the group, the wrestling revolution known as AEW wouldn’t exist.

Nick Jackson added a cheap shot of his own and said that while Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston may think they’re the faces of the company, it isn’t named after them.

As Kenny Omega started to speak a loud car horn blared. The camera panned outside the trailer and it was Moxley and Kingston.

Moxley revved the engine before smashing into The Elite’s trailer. However, when they went inside and vandalized it the group magically disappeared.

Kingston and Moxley exchanged some hilarious banter before the former AEW World Champion declared that The Elite are “bitch af.”

Hobbs and Christian Cage have instant chemistry

Hobbs and Christian Cage have instant chemistry

Christian Cage still has it, even after nearly a decade away from the ring.

Cage put on a masterclass in selling Wednesday night, which helped elevate his opponent. Even though Hobbs took the pin he comes out of this match looking very strong.

These two men are on opposite ends of success right now. Cage is heading up the AEW rankings, while Hobbs and Team Taz continue to crumble.

Allin and Jungle Boy leave the audience begging for more

(AEW)

Darby Allin and Jungle Boy put on a great match for the TNT Championship in Wednesday’s main event, but the abrupt finish undoubtedly left viewers wanting more.

After a gruelling match, Allin locked in The Last Supper pinning combination to squeak out a victory over Jungle Boy.

Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page attacked Allin after the match. However, Lance Archer made the save and Sting followed suit.

The show went off the air with Sky and Page outside the ring and Archer and Sting’s paths crossing once again.

Next week: Kris Statlander vs Penelope Ford, Adam Page vs Brian Cage and more!
